WHAT IS PERFORMANCE GROUP? A program created by Jennifer in 2005 and continued through 2020 until having to be canceled by the Pandemic. Performance Group is a group of individuals who show an interest in learning and doing more than the average theatre student/community theatre performer. Each student gets group and one on one attention in singing, dancing, acting, audition techniques, the difference between Stage and Screen, and proper resume format, accelerating their skills beyond their peers not in the group. Community ‘centric and performing at Tree Lighting Ceremonies, Festivals and Fairs.
IDEAL CANDIDATE? Performers who are willing to work hard, be a team player, who want to succeed and watch others do so as well, may participate. Participants must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA through their school. Director will be in constant communication with parents, as well as participants, to make sure success at school. This is paramount.
PARENTS ROLE: Director appreciates open lines of communication and does not tolerate gossip, division or derision within the group. If you have something to say, bring it to the director so a discussion may occur. Director likes to keep an open door policy with parents observing rehearsals when they wish. Director will not allow parents to ‘help’ or ‘aid’ while they sit at rehearsals. (You pay me to do a job, allow me to do it.) Parent is willing to take an active role in what your child/children are learning. If they know you care, they’ll work even harder. Director will need 1 parent volunteer to help with communication and be a coordinator when necessary. Director will choose. Parent’s be willing to help with fundraisers when necessary.
